Equipment:
Music ready to play (See our Magic Games Playlist)
Objective:
For the guesser to discover who is the Master Magician
How to Play:
Children sit in a circle and the instructor chooses one person to leave the room or stand somewhere they cannot see. This person will be the guesser.
The instructor then chooses one of the students in the circle to be the Master Magician. The Master Magician starts a movement such as patting their head and other players follow by mirroring the Master Magician’s movement.
The master magician changes the movement periodically and everyone else in the group mirrors the action. The guesser comes back into the room and stands in the middle of the circle. The guesser has three chances to guess who the Master Magician is.
The Master Magician can choose any movement that the other players can do. For example, the Master Magician can clap their hands for a while, then change to patting their head. Everyone continues to mirror the Master Magician until the guesser correctly identifies the Master Magician or has used up their three guesses.
For the next round, the master magician leaves the room to become the guesser and a new master magician is chosen.
Tips:
For Master Magician - Don't make any sudden changes in movement. Let the movements flow from one into the next so that everyone else can easily follow this change.
For the Guesser - Use your ears as well as your eyes. For example, when the movement changes to a clap, see if you can tell by the sound of the first clap came from.
For the other players - don't look at the leader. If everyone is looking at the leader, it's very easy for the guesser to identify them.
